Overview
Stopped on a road marking designated as a bus stop or bus stand during its restricted hours.
From the warden's perspective
Warden's note
Bus stops have yellow zigzag markings and signs. Restricted bus stops prohibit all stopping except buses. Hours must be displayed — if no hours sign, the restriction may operate at all times. Even a brief stop counts.
Common mistakes
Grounds councils sometimes get wrong — worth checking against your PCN and evidence pack.
- No hours sign (restriction may still apply at all times)
- Brief stop to drop off assumed permitted
- Markings faded
- Sign obscured
Your rights
Check for an hours sign. If no hours are shown and markings are clear, the restriction likely applies at all times. Faded markings are challengeable.
