Overview
Parked across or adjacent to a dropped kerb (crossover) in a special enforcement area.
From the warden's perspective
Warden's note
Dropped kerbs protect driveway access. In special enforcement areas, parking here is a civil offence even without yellow lines. The dropped kerb must be a proper vehicle crossover, not just a lowered kerb for pedestrians.
Common mistakes
Grounds councils sometimes get wrong — worth checking against your PCN and evidence pack.
- Pedestrian dropped kerb mistaken for vehicle crossover
- Partly blocking rather than fully blocking
- Own driveway crossover (you can park across your own in some areas)
Your rights
If the dropped kerb is for pedestrian use only, not a vehicle crossover, challenge. Also check if it's your own driveway — rules differ.
